Wookey Hole walks

You can find links for many pleasant walks on the Mendip Hills website, including this one that can be started from the village:

Ebbor Gorge and Model Farm: 4 mile, 2.5 hours walk

Notes: at stage two, instead of ‘almost immediately turn right to walk past the lime kilns, then bear left onto the lane’ keep straight on to go through the impressive ‘split rock’.You can then go through a gate into the field and straight ahead to pick up the walk at stage 3 ‘to go through a metal gate in a stone wall’ left of the farm.

Here is a similar walk that goes via Arthurs Point (for the view of lower milton of the main website image above), instead of split rock

Wookey Hole is on the West Mendip Way a 30 mile route which runs from Wells to Bleadon Hill (just south of Weston-super-Mare). This can done be as two half-day walks: Wells to Cheddar, and Cheddar to Bleadon Hill.

You can also pick up the Butcombe Pub Trail from up the road at Priddy.

There are also a variety of other options in the village and the surround area. Please review the comments section below, where we are encouraging residents and visitors to write about their own favourite walk.
